Zelda (Martin) Cholakoff Mullins, 94, of Oak Hill, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 following a long illness.
Born July 19, 1930 in Gamoca, WV, she was the daughter of the late William R. Martin and Luella (Mink) Martin.
Zelda grew up in Mahan, WV and graduated from Kingston High School in 1949. She retired from Tyree Funeral Home as the housekeeper several years ago and was the housekeeper for the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene earlier in her life. She was a member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene for almost 60 years and served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, took care of the flowers around the property and set up communion. She loved God, her family, her church, and was a prayer warrior.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband, Mark Cholakoff; her second husband, Tom Mullins; brothers, William (Bill) Martin, J.C. Martin, Jack Martin; and sister, Joann (Martin) Sprouse; granddaughter, Sabrina Mackay; and great granddaughter, Brianna Armstrong.
Zelda is survived by daughters, Susan Cholakoff Mackay (Marty) and Laura Cholakoff Lyke; grandchildren, Justin Mackay, Alena Mackay, Kelly Lyke, and Samuel Lyke, along with great granddaughters, nieces and nephews.
There will be a private graveside service for family only at Odd Fellows Cemetery (I.O.O.F. Fayette Historic Cemetery), Oak Hill.
