Winston Shelvon Smith, 63, of Ormond Beach, FL formerly of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL. Born October 18, 1942 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late Shelvon and Margie Lana Painter Smith. Winston moved to the Ormond Beach area in 1992 where he was Branch Manager for the John Deere Landscapes #120. He was a licensed master electrician and had also worked in the coal mines of West Virginia for 20 years. He was a member of the Daytona Beach Drive In Christian Church, Dayton Beach, FL and the Oak Hill Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. and A.M., Sewell Chapter No. 24 R.A.M., Mount Hope Commandery No. 22 K.T., the Beni Kedem Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. and the UMWA. A sister, Gaytha Sharon Chaanine preceded him in death. Survivors include wife, Shirley Ann Tyree Smith; three daughters, Kelly Lynn Oliva of Ormond Beach, FL, Leigh Ann Crist of Pliny, WV and Amy Jo Sauter of Ormond Beach, FL; sister, Delilah Gail Knox of Powhatan, VA; eight grandchildren, Larry, Jr., Joseph, Linda, Sara, Jacqueline, Riley, Laura and Leann and a sister-in-law, Barbara Tyree. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral serivce will be on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Pete Lokant officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV with Masonic graveside rites. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children - KY, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington KY 40502
