Winifred "Peanut" Smith

Winifred “Peanut” Smith, 49, of Pax, WV passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 from injuries received in a motorcycle accident in South Carolina. Born November 24, 1961 in Chicago, Ill. he was the son of Winifred and Irene Woolwine Smith of South Carolina. Peanut served in the armed forces in both the US Army and US Marine Corps. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a union carpenter. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two children, Justine Smith and Eli Smith both of Red Star, and four brothers, William Smith, Wesley Smith and wife, Renee of Ft. Mojave, AZ, Walt Smith and wife, Becky of Oak Hill and Wilson Smith of Blacksburg, SC. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Pax Advent Christian Church with his nephew, Cory Smith officiating. His cremains will be interred at Pax Community Cemetery with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110.
