Willis Wriston, Sr.

Willis Wriston,, 94, of Scarbro passed away peacefully on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born March 9, 1929 in Mossy, WV he was the son of the late Lee and Rutha Aliff Wriston.

Willis worked for Cabot Gas Company, was proud to be part of building the Plum Orchard Lake Dam. Mr. Wriston was saved in 1955, he was he the Deacon of the Pax Church of God and also Mossy Living Word Church, he loved reading his Bible and quoting scriptures and especially loved his church family. In his leisure he enjoyed gardening, reading all the cards he received, and most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who was his world. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Wriston; several brothers and sisters; along with nieces and nephews; and a son-in-law, Danny Williams.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his 4 children, Raymond Wriston, Jr., Lee Wriston (Brenda), Deanna Williams, and Ruth Williams; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Wehrle (Chris), Joey Williams (Brittany), CJ Wriston, Preston Wrsiton, and Caleb Wriston; 4 great grandchildren, Corey, Jackson, Isaac, and Chase; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for friends will be from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Mossy Living Word Church in Mossy, WV.

Funeral service will be 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Mossy Living Word Church in Mossy with Pastor Paul Basham officiating. Burial will follow at the Tyree Cemetery in Scarbro, WV.
