William Sherman Whitt

William Sherman Whitt, 59, of Rt. 1, Scarbro, WVpassed away Friday, February 1, 2009 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, WV. Born February 29, 1948 at Milburn,WV he was the son of the late Tony and Jessie Weeks Whitt. He was a retired coal miner having retired from Imperial Colliery at Cabin Creek and a member of the U. M. W. A. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Whitt and a sister, Anita Whitt. Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Bragg Whitt; one son, Billy Lee Whitt stationed with the Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, SC; three daughters, Rebecca Whitt and Christine Whitt, both of Lagrange, OH, Crystal Whitt of Scarbro; two brothers, James Whitt of Alexandria, VA and Lewis Whitt of Tennessee; 4 grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 5, at 2:00 PM at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Friends may call Monday evening, February 4, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
