William Terchek

William F. Terchek, 95, of Minden, WV died Friday, January 2, 2009 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV after a long illness. Born April 18, 1913 at Forest City, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Frances Moser Terchek. He was retired from the maintenance department at Montgomery General Hospital, Montgomery, WV. He was a member of the Oak Hill Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, V.F.W. Post #3110, Oak Hill, and was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Potter Terchek on November 10, 1992 and by three brothers, Frank, August, and Adolph Terchek. Surviving are three step daughters, Helen Wolfe of Standard, Nina Clark of Moreno, CA and Jean Sharp of Oak Hill; adopted son, Richard Terchek of Concord, NC; special grandson, Gary Sharp, Sr. and a great grandson, Gary Sharp, Jr. both of Minden; one sister, Dorothy Terchek of Forest City, PA; special caregivers, Angela Sharp of Minden and Debra Bibb of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2009 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Daniel Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity where military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
