William Thurl Rider Sr., 93, of Mooresville, NC formerly of Garten, WV died on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Mooresville Center - Genesis Healthcare in Mooresville, NC.
Born August 08, 1922 at Sutton, WV he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Dora Gladys Sponaugle Rider.
Mr. Rider was a retired general contractor. He attended the Church of Christ.
His wife of 67 years, Ruth Alma Fisher Rider; brothers, Harold G. Rider and Murel Rider; and sisters, Dorma, Maye, Norma Sue, Nellie and Orma preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, William T. Rider, Jr. of Mooresville, NC; two brothers, Frank Rider of Oak Hill and Ray Rider of Pennsylvania; one sister, Shirley Talbert of Beckley; and two grandchildren.
Graveside rites and commital services will be on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
