William Bradford "Bill" Ramey , 84, a resident of Pine Lodge Nursing Home in Beckley, WV formerly of Mount Hope, WV, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born January 13, 1930 at Mount Hope, WV he was the son of the late William Baber and Clara Mae Chandler Ramey.
He was a retired coal miner having worked for Richwood/Sewell Coal & Coke.
Mr. Ramey was a member of the Mount Hope Baptist Temple and was a US Marine Corps veteran.
His wife, Pauline Elizabeth Coy Ramey; two sisters, Vella Merrix and Clarise Jordan and a brother, Glenn W. Ramey preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, William Bruce Ramey and wife, Rita, of Cool Ridge; two grandchildren, Shannon E. Ramey and wife, Keri of Lexington Park, MD and William Benjamin Ramey of Cool Ridge; one brother, Martin Ramey of Springfield; and sisters, Judy Farmer of Hagerstown, MD, Jane Engle of Charleston, Eva Codi of Pasadena, MD and Rowena Napier of Williamson.
Graveside rites and committal services will be on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum #3 in Prosperity with Rev. Randy Smithson and Rev. Lester Harper officiating. Entombment will follow. Friends may call from 11:30 AM until service time at the mausoleum on Saturday.
