William "Bill" Richard Lawton, 84, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at CAMC - Memorial Division in Charleston, WV. Born February 24, 1921 at Sunbury, PA he was the son of the late George Russell and Kathryn M. Wallace Lawton. Bill was a longtime member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and the Shirley Donnelly Bible Class. He was a past member and president of the Mount Hope Lions Club. He was an avid sports fan. Mr. Lawton proudly served his county in World War II in the US Army Military Intelligence. He retired in 1986 as a car salesman for Steen-Miller, Inc. of Oak Hill. Two sisters, Doris K. Bolen and June N. Cetwinski and two brothers, Jack P. Lawton and George W. Lawton preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Patsy Blake Lawton; two brothers, Thomas W. Lawton and wife, Agatha, of Chesterfield, VA and Robert D. Lawton of Mt. Prospect, IL and by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, January 14, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be on Sunday, January 15, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Baptist Church in Oak Hill with Rev. David White officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. James C. Skeens, James E. Burnette, Jerry R. Burnette, Thomas F. Munoz, Gerald L. Stover, Thomas F. Munoz, II, Travis J. Burnette, William R. Stover and Robert T. Bolen will serve as pallbearers.
