William F. Drennen, Jr.

OAK HILL — William F. Drennen Jr., age 72, of Oak Hill, WV died on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill. Born Feb. 22, 1936, at Stanaford, W.Va., he was the son of the late William F. Drennen, Sr. and Lillian Brewster Drennen. Mr. Drennen was a former employee of Long-Airdox and former Chief of Police at Mt. Hope. He was retired, self-employed, and was a member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. He was inactive with the Gideons. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Dewitt and by a brother, Donald Drennen. Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years, Joyce Ann Hodges Drennen; his children, Ricky Wayne Drennen of Chester, Va., Linda Muovich and husband, Gary of Beckley, Terry Drennen and his wife, Tammy of Oak Hill, and Gregory Drennen and his wife, Cathy of Charlottesville, Va.; four brothers, Bill Drennen of Oak Hill, Jackie Drennen of Somerville, Fla., Bobby Drennen of Oak Hill, and Michael Drennen of Oak Hill; a sister, Shirley Burley of Oak Hill and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Jerry Bush and Rev. Bill Drennen officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
