William Chornsbay, 73, of Scarbro, WV died on Monday, February 14, 2005 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born November 28, 1931 at Hamtramack, MI he was the son of the late William and Eva Grobosky Chornobay. William was a retired Tech Sgt for the US Air Force and also a veteran of the US Army and the Korean Conflict. He was a former employee of Ohio Brass of Oak Hill. Mr. Chornsbay was a member of the First Assembly of God, Oak Hill, WV, the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. and A.M. and the American Legion and a former member of the Swell Chaper No. 24 R.A.M. and Mount Hope Commandery No. 22 K.T. He was a Webelos and Cub Scout leader from 1978 to 1985 in Scarbro. He was preceded in death by a son, David William Chornsbay in 1992. Survivors include wife, Virginia A. Coulter Chornsbay; sons, Earl Lester Chornsbay of Oak Hill and Joseph Wayne Chornsbay of Scarbro; daughter, Deborah Lynne Eastridge of Beckley; brothers, Tommy Chornobay and Eddie Chornobay; sisters, Betty Light, Diane Heath and Sandy Sanchez; and by nine grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Thursday, February 17, 2005, at 11:00 am at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Joe Hoggard officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3110, Oak Hill and Masonic graveside rites by Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. and A.M.
