William R. Blake

William Robert Blake, born January 8, 1912, died August 7, 2003 at age 91 years. He was the son of the late Ira H. Blake and Erma Cox Blake Epperly. Born and raised at Wriston, WV he was the oldest son with four brothers and five sisters. He worked in the coal fields and retired from the State Road Department in 1977. He married Nancy Chesunas on August 26, 1936. Together they lived at their home at Meadow Fork for the past 60 years. He is survived by his wife of 66 years and their children: W. R. Blake, Jr. and wife, Sue, of Virginia; Thomas E. Blake and wife, Carol, of Nebraska; Benny Ray Blake and wife, Claire, of Oak Hill; James Kenneth Blake and wife, Joy, of Oak Hill; Nancy Tomaseck and husband, Jeff, of Oak Hill; Lillian Ann Casey and husband, Doug, of Louisiana; Shirley Mae Bragg of Oak Hill and Karen Bennett and her husband, David, of Alabama. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Sunday, August 10, 2003 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Drennen officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill, WV. HE WAS LOVED BY MANY. He is loved by many.
