Willa M. "Bill" Wilson Franklin

Willa "Bill" Mae Wilson Franklin , 91, of Oak Hill, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born August 16, 1922 at Blue Ridge, GA she was the daughter of the late Lola "Ma" Stamey Wilson. She was employed at G.C. Murphy in Oak Hill for over 20 years having been a sales clerk and later worked in the office. For 50 years Bill was a faithful member of the Kincaid Church of God where she was a Sunday school teacher and an active member of the CWC having held various offices throughout the years. After moving up to Oak Hill nine years ago, she and Huck attended the Jones Avenue Church of God. Her husband of 68 years, James Russell "Huck" Franklin preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Pat Franklin, and Rusty (Eva) Franklin, of Oak Hill; her grandchildren, TJ Franklin, Megan (BJ) Jones  of Oak Hill, Michael (Sarah) Franklin of Roanoke, VA, and Matthew (Erika) Franklin of Mount Dora, FL; and five great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Franklin, Emily Jones, and Madison and Harper Franklin; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ben and Pat Franklin of Aiken, SC, and a host of other loving family and friends.  Funeral services will be on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Jones Avenue Church of God in Oak Hill with Rev. Ralph Shupe and Rev. Tonya Shupe officiating. Following the services, she will be laid to rest beside her husband at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.  Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday, September 30, 2013 at the church. Grandsons, T.J. Franklin, Michael Franklin, Matt Franklin, grandson-in-law, B.J. Jones, and Ben Franklin and Jimmy Franklin will serve as pallbearers.
