Wilburn Rudy Rose, Sr. 86, of New Port Richey, FL formerly of Rt. 1 Fayetteville, WV and Woodbridge, VA died on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at his home. Born February 19, 1923 at Princeton, WV he was the son of the late Marlin Rudy and Margaret Elizabeth Shrewsbury Rose. He was a retired carpenter and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Rose served in the US Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Selma Christine Bennett Rose; three sons, Melvin Donald Bennett, Wilburn Ruby Rose, Jr. of Falls Church, VA and Roger Lee Rose of Ijamsville, MD; three daughters, Barbara Jean Stackhouse of Spring Hill, FL, Sharon Kay Vanover of New Port Richey, FL and Brenda Christine Blevins of Stafford, VA; one brother, Delano Rose of Gobles, Mich., four sisters, Dorothy Roberts of Charleston, Sharlene Prather of Interloken, FL, Eleanore Yost of Spring Hill, FL and Linda McClung of Elkview; twenty one grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Services will be on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Robert Barley officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Prosperity with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill.
