Wavie Elenor Burgess Butler , 74, of Clear Creek, WV died on Tuesday, July 09, 2013 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born January 17, 1939 at Artie, WV she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Margaret Dunbar Burgess. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Lawrence "Buddy" Butler; brothers, Cubie, James and Phillip Burgess; sisters, Rosetta Stover, Cora McCoy, Hope Bradley, Connie Daniels and Margaret Burgess and foster kids, Gary Tiggs, Curt French, Jimmy Lively and David Adkins preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Frances Moses of Clear Creek and Abby Boggess of Clear Creek; two sons, Ted Butler and wife, Anna of Clear Creek and Doug Butler and wife, Donna of Dorothy and a brother, Donald Burgess of Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one very special grandson, Douglas, Jr.; four great granddaughters; one great grandson; a host of foster kids who she loved very much, including Jimmy Treadway, Harvey Maynor, Lenny Hodge, Mitchell Burgess, Mark Stover and James Stover; many nieces and nephews and two special friends, Katie McGinnis and Barbara Wriston. In keeping with her wishes, Mrs. Butler was cremated. Graveside rites will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Ewing Creek Cemetery, Clear Creek. There will be no visitation.
