Wanda Ward

Wanda Ervin Ward, 83, of Roanoke, VA formerly of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Carilion Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born May 09, 1924 at Minden, WV she was the daughter of the late Morris and Minnie Dial Ervin. She was a retired sales clerk for Wenders Discount & Store 99 in Oak Hill. Wanda attended the Assemblies of God and Bunker Hill Church of God. She was a former Cub Scout leader and a member of the Scout Cabin quilter's group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Ward; son, Lewis Dean Ward and a brother, Morris Ervin, Jr. Survivors include two sons, James W. "Jim" Ward and Jack Dewayne Ward both of Oak Hill, WV; three daughters, Margot Ann Riser of Oak Hill, WV and Mary Jean Ward and Jill Elaine Payne both of Roanoke, VA; two sisters, Opal Dixon and Elizabeth Calvert both of Oak Hill; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Services will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Rudell Bloomfield officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery, Hilltop WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
