Wanda Canterbury Kurzyna, 78, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV following a short illness. Born January 26, 1927 at Page, WV she was the daughter of the late Maxie Ray and Cammie Wilson Canterbury. Wanda was a devoted wife, loving mother and a homemaker. She was a retired sales clerk for Noyes Mens and Boys Store, Oak Hill and had been a resident of Oak Hill for 57 years. Surviving are her husband, of 57 years, Charlie (Kazymier) Kurzyna; two daughters, Karen McNulty and husband, Tom, of Huber Heights, OH and Charyl Waugh of Spartanburg, SC; two sons, Chuck Kurzyna and wife, Kathy, of Beckley, WV and John Kurzyna and wife, Ellen, of Winston-Salem, NC; five sisters, Ida Mae Dodd of Oak Hill, WV, Mary Hisel of Pleasanton, CA, Naomi Gwinn of Oak Hill, WV, Iona Neely and husband, Charles, of Raleigh, NC and Hilda West of Ravenswood, WV; eight grandchildren, Karrie Holleman and husband, Jerry, of Spartanburg, SC, Marc McNaulty and Lynn McNaulty both of Huber Heights, OH, Kris Kurzyna and Charlie Kurzyna both of Winston-Salem, NC, Phillip Kurzyna and wife, Kristie, Bryan Kurzyna and Cammie Kurzyna all of Fayetteville, WV; by numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. There will be no visitation. A private service will be held at a later date.
