Wanda Elizabeth Burruss Farrish,93, of Oak Hill passed away Friday, November 26, 2004 at home. Born October 1, 1911 at Page,WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ernest Burruss and Nancy Margaret Settle Burruss. In addition to her husband, Walter Franklin Farrish, Sr. she is preceded in death by her sister, Nora Ann Burruss Billings. Survivors include her only son, Walter F. Farrish, Jr. and wife, Margaret (Peggy) McClaskey Farrish of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Joy Farrish of Oak Hill, Beth Ann Farrish Frommer, husband, Captain Andrew Frommer, daughter Maris Quinn Frommer of Jensen Beach, FL., Amy Jo Farrish Nibert, husband Ronald A. Nibert, daughter Samie and son Dawson Nibert of Kincaid WV, Walter Franklin Farrish III, wife Nikki Marie Farrish and son Walter Franklin Farrish IV, Imogene Burruss Stanley, sister of Wanda's, nieces, Reverend Wanda Stanley Ray, Patricia Stanley Toler and Nora Ann Billings Smith; nephews, James Burruss Billings and Charles Billings. Wanda led a full and wonderful life. She was a graduate of Beckley College and the University of Charleston, was a Master Flower Show Judge, landscape critic, charter member of the Red Bud Garden Club, charter member of the Quota club, BPW Club, AAUW Club, American Heart Association and the Women's Circle Group, Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Wanda had her Bridal Shop in Oak Hill for 56 years. She was a dedicated member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church since 1912. The Farrish family would like to extend thanks to Becky Legg of Scarbro, Dr. Donald Newell and wife, Darlene, Dr. R. Shah and family, Hospice of Southern West Virginia and all the friends that visited and kept us in your prayers. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church, Tuesday, November 30, 2004 with Rev. Dr. John Sauvage officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill from 6:00 until 9:00 PM on Monday, November 29, 2004.
