Walter D. Fitzpatrick, 66, of Scarbro, WV died Monday, January 2, 2006 at his home. Born July 30, 1939 at Dothan, WV he was the son of the late Edgar Jefferson and Beulah Pearl Buttrick Fitzpatrick. Walter was a retired coal mining truck driver and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was preceded in death by six brothers, James Thomas, Gene, Lacy, Donald, Larry Franklin and Carmen Timothy Fitzpatrick and one sister, Delma Fitzpatrick. Survivors include his wife, Rayola Altice Fitzpatrick; one brother, Clarence Fitzpatrick and wife, Julie, of Mossy, WV; four sisters, Ruth King of Dothan, WV, Chris Bryant and husband, Roger, of Ypsilanti, MI, Kay Jaime and husband, Robert, of Prestonsburg, KY and Deloris Treadway and husband, Stanley of Maysville, GA. and by several loving nieces and nephews. As he requested, his body has been donated to the WVU Medical Center Human Gift Registry for polio and cancer research. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
