Virginia Labelle Melesky

October 16, 1923 — June 24, 2015

Virginia LaBelle Decker Melesky 91, of Scarbro, West Virginia, died Wednesday June 24, 2015 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia.

Born October 16, 1923 at Beckley, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Claude S. and Audrey Jones Decker.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scarbro, West Virginia.She was an avid golfer at White Oak Country Club and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi.

LaBelle retired after 20 years from Cohen/Rite Aide Pharmacy. She also worked at Georges Fashions and Cook's Department Store.

Her husband Frank Stanley Melesky preceded her in death as did her brother Eldon "Mac" Decker and sister Margaret Louise Carroll.

Survivors include her daughters, Claudia Layman and her husband Jim of Dufur, Oregon, and Jennifer McCauley and her husband Michael of Scarbro, West Virginia, and her son, Frank Melesky and his wife Jeanne of Manteca, California.

Also surviving are grandchildren Charlene Rouse of Dufur, Oregon, Brian Melesky of Manteca, California, JoAnn Melesky of Fort Bragg, California, Christopher McCauley of Keswick, Virginia, and Shannon Marshall and husband Mark, of Palmyra, Virginia; great grandchildren Coral, Ariel, Brady, Sully, and Caden; sisters in law Nina Decker of Bristol, Virginia and Charlotte Mierchuk of Hampton, Virginia; her caregiver Janice Brown of Scarbro, WV, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great friends, and her beloved cats.

Services will be Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill, West Virginia with Rev. Kenny Smith and Bob Creed officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill, West Virginia.
