Virginia "Virgie" Haskett

Virginia Ann "Virgie" Comer Haskett, 97, of Whipple, WV died on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at Hidden Valley Healthcare Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born January 12, 1907 at Maybeury, McDowell County, WV she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Willie Wiley Comer. She was a retired Baltimore, MD grocery store owner. Mrs. Haskett was a member of the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, Oak Hill, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Haskett, Sr. on June 23, 1970 and son, Walter L. Haskett, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine McElroy of Mesa, AZ; two granddaughters, Linda Percy of Mesa, AZ and Brenda Hill of Orlando, FL; five great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren; and locally, niece, Margie Stanley of Fayetteville, WV. Funeral service 2:00 PM Monday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
