Virginia Crane

April 27, 1926 — February 28, 2004

Virginia Lee "Doll" Eades Crane, 77, of Oak Hill went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Saturday, February 28, 2004, at the Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill following a short illness. She was born April 27, 1926 at Ansted, she was a daughter of the late William Roy and Bessie Ann Legg Eades. She was a homemaker, devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Crane was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Chancel Choir, Margaret Stimson Fellowship and a cook for the tutoring program at the church. She was a resident of Oak Hill for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Warden Crane, Jr., brothers, Bill Eades, Virgil "Pie" Eades, and William "Dit" Roy Eades, Jr.; sisters, Hazel Crist, Ethel Schultz and June Pennington. Survivors include four daughters, Donna Crane of Oak Hill, Martha Simmons and husband, Michael of Oak Hill, Priscilla Hall and husband, Rev. David Hall of Princeton, and Billie Megimose and husband, John of Buckhannon; grandchildren, Bethany Hall, John Mark Megimose II, Sarah Hall and Rebekah Megimose; four sisters, Thelma Nuckols of Florida, Emily Norford of Fayetteville, Geneva Parsons of Bellaire, Md., and Bessie Ann Skaggs of Carlisle. Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. James Shepherd, Rev. David Hall, Rev. William Slates, and Rev. Ellen File officiating. Entombment will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoluem, Oak Hill. Friends may call at the church from 6 until 8 PM Monday evening.
