Vernon W. Sears

Ezekiel 37:5 Our beloved Vernon Winifred Sears , 69, of Fayetteville, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA after a hard fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born April 18, 1943 at Thurmond, WV he was the son of the late Basil and Jennie Boley Sears. Mr. Sears lived in Hopewell, VA for 35 years and retired after 25 years service with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical of Petersburg, VA. Vernon was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Fayetteville. He loved cooking for his family and friends especially cookouts. He was a loyal WVU football fan. He enjoyed helping out at his family's business, Campbell Tile, Inc. of Oak Hill. His first wife of 39 years, Mary Catherine Bragg Sears, a brother, Keith Sears, sister, Charlene Moses, and great nephew, Eric Campbell preceded him in death. Vernon is survived by his loving family which include his wife of six years, Emilie J. Sears and her children, Laurie Zorio, Shelley Aicher and Ray Funk all of Fayetteville and Gene Funk of Tallmage, OH, sister, Macil Campbell of Hilltop and three nephews, Elmer "Eddie" Campbell and wife, Delora, and Keith Campbell and wife, Donna Kay all of Hilltop and Basil Campbell and wife, Lesia of Lewisburg. He is also survived by and will be deeply missed by great nieces, Denise Hambrick and husband, Eddie, Donna Mae Ortiz and husband, Craig and MaKayla Snyder and husband, Dwayne, and great nephew, Ryan Campbell and their families as well as a host of extended family and loving friends. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church in Fayettville with Pastor Delbert Walker officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Grace Baptist Church, Fayetteville on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Eddie Hambrick, Ryan Campbell, Gene Funk, Craig Ortiz, Ray Funk and John Tremblay will serve as pallbearers.
