Veoma Morris Bowles

Veoma P. Morris Bowles, 74, of Oak Hill, WV left her earthly home to reside with the Lord in her heavenly home on Christmas morning, Thursday, December 25, 2008 following a lengthy illness. Born September 04, 1934 at Thayer, WV she was the daughter of the late William E. "Ernie" and Annie Avancini Morris. She was married to the late Benjamen Dewey Bowles. Vee, as she was well known to many, was a lifetime resident of Fayette County. She was a most special devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Previously employed during the 1980's with the Raleigh County Home Health, she continued her caring and loving ways with her heart of gold providing extended care to many before they left earth to join the ranks of the angels in Heaven. She was well known for her special delicious Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners where family and friends would gather in large numbers to partake of these feasts. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a a son, Louis E. Bowles and a daughter, Teresa Sharp both of whom passed in 2005. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Danny R. Bowles and wife, Carol of Mount Hope; daughter, Malinda Toney and husband, Preston of Oak Hill; three sisters, Eloise Harvey of Hilltop, Imogene Redden and Shelby Carrol both of Warren, MI; brother, William "Bill" Morris and wife, Jeri of Meadow Bridge; grandchildren, Steve Bowles, Jerilea Sizemore, Ashley Logan, Anita Denton, Beth Ann Perry, Irene Poff, Billy Humphrey and Darrell Sharp, Jr.; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. As requested there will be no visitation. Graveside rites and committal services will be on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Rev. Robert Barley officiating. Burial will follow. At the close of the service, white doves will be released in celebration of her life and Heavenly journey.
