Trilby Humphrey Tyree

Trilby Lee Humphrey Tyree, 95, of Franklin, IN formerly of Pax, WV, died on Sunday, January 23, 2005 the Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin, IN. Born October 10, 1909 at Beckley, WV she was the daughter of the late Henry F. and Louella Lafferty Humphrey. Tribly lived her entire life in Pax until she moved to the assisted living facility in Franklin, IN at age 88. She was a member of the first graduating class of Pax High School and a member of the United Methodist Church, Long Branch, WV. Her life was devoted to homemaking and caring for her family. Trilby married Frank L. Tyree at age 19 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage until his death on March 11, 1995. She was the last survivor of 13 children having been preceded by brothers, William Ray, Gilbert O., Sidney R., Cecil C., Robie B., Bernard W., Tennis A., Larel, and Henry F., Jr. Humphrey; sisters, Mamie Treadway, Alva P. Humphrey and Thelma Wingrove. Survivors include sons, Frank Leonard Tyree and wife, Barbara, of Franklin, IN and Dr. Larry Allen Tyree and wife, Lois, of Raleigh, NC; one daughter, Lois Elaine Powers and husband, Rusty, of Crobsy, TN; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister-in-law, Blanche Davis of Oak Hill, brother-in-law, Lewis Tyree of Charleston and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV on Thursday, January 27, 2005 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Services will be on Thursday, January 27, 2005, at 1:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Chalmer Abrams officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
