Trela Kay Akers, 71, went to be with her beloved husband Roger Lee Akers on Tuesday morning December 10, 2019 after a short illness.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ray “Stabe” and Mary Elizabeth (Feazelle) Evans; sister, Susan Elizabeth Evans; and nephew, Johnathon Tyler Ray Moore.
Leaving behind her family of daughter, Susan Elizabeth Akers of Maynor; son, Roger Lee Akers, of Canvas; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Williamson; grandson, Jeffrey Ryan Akers; granddaughter, Emma Grace Akers; sister, Donna Rae Duncan (Billy); niece, Cynthia Moore; nephew, Michael Ray Duncan (Heather); great nephew, William Kenny Moore; great niece, Amanda Marlee Moore; great nephew, Michael Gene Moore; only living aunt. Betty Lou Wilson (Bobby); and special cousins, Roger Wilson (Carol) and Lewis Hoskins (Sherry).
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.
Visitation for friends will be Friday, December 13, 2019 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers will be David Barlow, Paul Barlow, Keith Barlow, Michael Ray Duncan, William Kenny Moore, and John Treadway.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations of sympathy be made to the Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Dr. Beckley WV, 25801.
