Thomas A. "Tom" Perkins

Thomas "Tom" Anthony Perkins, 86, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Hidden Valley Nursing and Rehab Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born December 26, 1921 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late John A. and Henrietta Barrett Perkins. Mr. Perkins retired after working 40 years a sales clerk for Noyes Mens and Boys Store. He was a member of the First Brethren Church in Oak Hill where he served as a Layman, a member of the the American Legion and a former member of the Oak Hill Lions Club. A US Army veteran, he served in the US Air Force. Tom was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Perkins, Merrion Perkins and George Perkins and three sisters, Ruth Halstead, Opal Short and Doris Goff. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy J. Armstrong Perkins and several nieces and nephews. Services will be on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. William Skeldon officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
