Thomas Evan Kirk

Thomas Evan Kirk, 76, of Beckley, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the Webster Nursing and Rehab. Center, Cowen,WV following a long illness. Born June 9, 1929 at Newark, Ohio, he was the son of the late Evan Petrie Kirk and Betty Jane Palmer Ankrum. Mr. Kirk was a retired electrician and manager with Motorola in Memphis, Tenn. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Navy and as a Sgt. with the Ohio Army National Guard-37th Division. He was also a past member of the Ohio Masonic Lodge #720, A.F. & A.M. in Newark, Ohio. Survivors include his beloved wife, Brenda Joyce Criss Kirk of Beckley; a son, Tommy Lee Kirk of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Lynn Mitchell of Myrtle Beach, SC; a stepson, Michael Thomas Law of Columbus, Ohio; a grandson, Thomas Edward Kirk of Ohio; a great granddaughter, Anastasia Noel Kirk of Ohio; two step-grandsons, Christopher and Nicholas Law; a nephew, Timothy Crawley; a niece, Jane E. Wilson; and a sister, Norma Jean Crawley of Ohio. Services will be 2 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with the Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will follow in the High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Military Rites will be by the VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
