Thomas Alan Harlan, age 70, of Fayetteville, WV passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born May 26, 1946 in Montgomery, WV, he was raised and preceded in death by his grandparents, Opal and Lonnie Taylor and also by his mother, Agnes Collette.
Tom was formerly employed by Semet-Solvay at Harewood, was Assistant General Superintendent of Cedar Coal Company and most recently owner of Oakridge Antiques and Collectibles.
Tom loved and was an avid baseball fan, player and coach. He enjoyed sharing his love of hunting and fishing with his son, Scott, and grandson, Caleb.
He leaves behind a devoted wife of 49 years, Susan Harlan; his two sons, Brad Harlan of Fayetteville and Scott Harlan and wife, Teri, of Oak Hill and his grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, Abigail and Emily Harlan all of Oak Hill; also by one sister, Sybil McCue and husband, Steve.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Dr. Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 or to the Fayetteville Little League.
