Thomas Fontana

Thomas Fontana , 80, of Mount Hope, WV died on Saturday, March 05, 2011 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born November 24, 1930 at Herndon, WV he was the son of the late Dominick and Marie Massara Fontana. He was a former brick layer and a retired coal miner having worked for Harvey Energy. His wife, Hilda Mae Tenney Fontana preceded him in death on December 7, 2010. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Lee Fontana, Mike Fontana, Pat Fontana, Johnny Fontana and Nick Fontana and three sisters, Mary Benedetto, Josephine Pishner and Camilla Spadaro. Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline Moerman of Bradenton, FL, two sons, Thomas Dale Fontana of Sheffield Lake, OH and Mark Fontana of Mount Nebo, two stepsons, Roger Tenney of Herold and Michael Steadham of Summersville, one brother, James Fontana and wife, Dorothy of Columbia, PA and four sisters, Esther Chamberlain of Vancouver, WA Anna Payne of Beckley, Carolyn Troitino of Mount Hope and Eleanor Fontana of Mount Hope. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Orville Setliffe officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
