Thomas Kelley Bickford,83, of Oak Hill died Friday, August 6, 2004 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill after a long illness. He was born January 10, 1921 at Page, WV a son of the late Ashby and Annie Kelley Bickford. Tom was a retired store manager for Island Creek Stores. He was a member of the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle where he was treasurer for many years and served as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II having served in the Philippines from 1943 until 1946. He was preceded in death by sisters, Louise Benton and Julia Ann Gray, brothers, Clinton Bickford and Sola Bickford. Survivors include his wife, June Marie Cobb Bickford; two sons, Thomas Bickford, Jr. and wife, Donna of Huntington, WV and Douglas Bickford and wife, Evangeline of Oak Hill; two daughters, Vicki Bickford and Kathy Zutaut and husband, Bryan of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Kristin Meadows, Tara Zutaut, Jonathan Bickford, Matthew Bickford, Brad Bickford, Brandon Bickford and Brooke Bickford; great grandchildren, Brynley Meadows, Jacob Barnett and Ryleigh Stone; two brothers, Gene Bickford of Chicago, Illinois and Calvin Bickford of Page; two sisters, Maizie Shrewsbury of Indiana and Blondine Epling of Florida. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 9,2004, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Rev. Allen Gallimore officiating. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with military rites conducted by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6 until 8 PM Sunday evening, August 8, 2004, at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
