Thelma Marie Buckland Riser

Thelma M. Riser, age 71, of Oak Hill, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill after a long illness. Born February 5, 1942 in Oak Hill, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Lucille Taylor Buckland. Thelma was a sales clerk at Big Lots and attended and was baptized at the Cunard Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Fayette Continuous Care since January, 2005. She was preceded in death by his first husband, Roy Treadway, a great granddaughter, Caroline, a brother, Edward Buckland and a sister, Anna Mae Treadway. Surviving is her loving husband, James “Jim” Riser, Jr., of Oak Hill, WV, her son, Roy Treadway and his wife Lavon of, Oak Hill, two daughters, Shirl Vaughn and her husband Richard of Oak Hill, Kathy Landers and her husband Roger of Fayetteville, WV, one step son, Jay Riser and his wife Michele of Charleston, SC, seven grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer and husband Greg, Tina, R.J. Jessica, Richard and his wife Dorothy, Rebecca “Becky” and her husband Ben, step grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan, five great grandchildren, Eric, Faith, Jasper, Liberty and Josiah. Also surviving are three brothers, Tommy Buckland and wife Linda, Charlie Buckland and wife Kathy, all of Fayetteville, WV and Lee Buckland and his wife Judy of Oak Hill, WV as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Gary Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2013. Elijah Treadway, R.J.
