Terry Wayne Johnson

Terry Wayne Johnson , 75, of Covington, VA died on Sunday, May 09, 2021, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA.

Born February 16, 1946, in Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late Elmer Thorton and Nina Lee Blake Johnson.

Terry was a 1964 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill and earned a certificate and two Associate of Applied Science degrees from Dabney S. Lancaster Community College, Clifton Forge, Virginia in 1985.

He worked for Hercules (AET) in Covington and Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) and at Westvaco (WestRock) also in Covington, retiring in 2002.

His two brothers, Bob Johnson and Bill Johnson, and one nephew, Patrick Johnson preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Gail Sinicky Johnson of Covington; one daughter, Lauren Paige Johnson, of Portland, Maine; and one son, Jordan Blake Johnson and wife Allison, of Fairfax, Virginia.

Graveside rites and committal service will be on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10:00 am at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Pastor Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Terry to the American Lung Association or to the charity of your choice.

Those planning to attend should use proper COVID 19 precautions by wearing masks and observing social distancing of 6 feet.
