Sytha Ellen Sneed

Sytha Ellen Cordle Sneed,89,of Jacksonville, FL, formerly of Oak Hill died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida. She was born February 7, 1916 at Vanlear, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Richard and Clara Johnson Cordle. She was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church where she was a member of the church choir, Cross Circle; former Girl Scout leader and a member of the Business & Professional Women of Oak Hill. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert L. Sneed in 1993; and one grandchild. Survivors include one son, Alexander "Zan" C. Sneed and his wife, Mary Alice, of Wilmington, NC; three daughters, Margaret Thomas and husband, Edward W., of Point Pleasant, WV, Shirley Davidson and husband, Robert H., and Rebecca Macmillan both of Jacksonville, FL; a stepsister, Beulah Samples of Pratt, WV; nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at 2:00 PM at the Oak Hill Baptist Church with Rev. David White officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Robert B. Davidson, Dwight E. Davidson, Scott W. Davidson, James Alexander Sneed, Jamie Andrew Sneed, Ivan H. Bush IV, and Steven Wallace Thomas.
