Sylvia L. Underwood

Sylvia L. Underwood, 93, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Berger Health System in Circleville, OH. Due to ill health, Sylvia had resided in Circleville for the past seven years in order to be near her daughters. Born April 03, 1915 at Goshen, VA she was the daughter of the late Aronie Allen and Carrie Jo Plogger Elswick. Mrs. Underwood was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pocahontas, VA and a homemaker. Her husband, Speed Underwood preceded her in death on November 8, 1985. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Bobby Underwood, Speed Underwood, Jr. and Jackie Underwood; two daughters, Alice Collins and Hallie Underwood and one brother. Survivors include two daughters, Sally Lively of Circleville, OH and Nila Sheets of Circleville, OH; one son, Dwight Underwood of Roanoke, VA and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Allen Gallimore officiating.
