Sylvia Jean Pennington

Sylvia Jean Wriston Pennington,65, of East Kingston,WV went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2004 near Mossy. She was born May 6, 1939 at Clear Creek,WV a daughter of the late Albert Vernon and Clara Mae Williams Wriston. She was a homemaker and mother who enjoyed being with her family, enjoyed her gardening and her strong faith in the Lord. Member of the Willis Branch Community Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Willard Ray Pennington; and brothers and sisters, Bertha, Nancy, Everett and Denny. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Howard Elwood Pennington; six sons, Jackie Pennington and wife, Brenda of Sophia, Eddie Pennington and wife, Shiney of Oak Hill, Frankie Pennington and wife, Melissa of Pax, Johnny Pennington of East Kingston, Benjamin Pennington and wife, Ethel of Hilltop, Wesley Pennington and wife, Sarah of Scarbro; one daughter, Rachel Toney and husband, Nathan of Dothan; two brothers, Earnest Keith Wriston, Keith Vernon Wriston; two sisters, Anna Mae Davis and Loraine Mae Baxter all of Pax; 19 grandchildren, Lori, JJ, Teaira, Priscilla, Harley, Shana, Trevor, Matt, Frankie Lee, Tiffany K., Barry, Lydia, Jeffrey, Justin, Paul, Nicholas, Anthony, Luke and Stacey; and one great grandchild, Preston. Funeral Services will be Friday, September 3, at 11:00 AM at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Rev. Jack Long officiating. Burial will be in Pax Community Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 until 9 PM at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
