Suellen Shrewsberry Royse

Suellen "Sue" Shrewsberry Royse, 83, of Mullens, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

Born March 17, 1940, at Basin, she was the daughter of the late Burl and Meda (Graham) Shrewsberry.

Sue was a 1958 graduate of Herndon High School. She was a devoted housewife of 63 years and loved cooking, canning, reading, and gardening. Sue loved spending time with her sons. She never met a stranger and was always ready to talk and was also the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Carl , three brothers; and four sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three sons, Floyd Royse and his wife, Donna of Mullens, Edward and Jennie Royse of Cadiz, Kentucky, and Carl "Andy" Royse and his wife, Angela of Mullens; three grandsons, Derek, Chad, and Jacob Royse; one granddaughter, Kelsey Royse; one great granddaughter, Amelia Royse; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

In keeping with Sue's wishes, she will be cremated.
