Sue Martin Gillispie, 87 of Wilmore KY and formally Mullens, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

Sue was a member of the Otsego Bible Chapel where she loved to play the piano and fellowship with her brothers and sisters in Christ. She was the secretary of the Southern WV Gospel Association, and a member of the Mullens Eastern Star. Sue worked in the Circuit Clerk’s office at the Wyoming County Court House, where she retired in 2004.

Sue was a devoted mother to her 2 sons, who were the lights of her life. She was also known as ‘Memaw’ to a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sue lived a life of laughter, and she never met a stranger. She was well known for mischievous pranks and wit.

She was preceded in death by her parents Solie Boyd and Elizabeth Pearl Martin; husband Jack Howard Gillispie; two twin sisters Louise and Ellouise Martin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons; Kevin Gillispie and wife Jenny of Beckley, WV and Gary Gillispie and wife Shelby of Wilmore, KY. Grandchildren; Katelyn Winneroski and husband Aaron, Jaclyn Mattingly and husband Jake, Kaitlynn Hall and husband Tanner, Garick Gillispie and Tanner Gentry. Great-grandchildren; Asher and Bristol Hall and Zane Mattingly.

In keeping with Sue’s wishes there will be a graveside service for family and friends at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Sunday, February 2 at 2:00pm with Pastor Mike Cook officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy may be made to Otsego Bible Chapel, P.O. Box 114, Mullens, WV 25882.
