Stella Lafferty Russell

Stella Lafferty Russell, 97, of Beckley, WV passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at SunBridge Pine Lodge Care & Rehab in Beckley, WV. Born April 09, 1911 at Willis Branch, WV she was the daughter of the late Otis and Ollie Payne Lafferty. Mrs. Russell was a member of the Church of God in Beckley. She loved housekeeping, working in her yard, quilting and going to church. She was preceded in death by her three husbands, Ralph Williams, Kenneth Tipton and Neal Russell and two daughters, Joan Williams Scheetz and Carol Williams, who passed away on the same day as her mother. Survivors include one son, Bobby Williams and wife, Mary of Beckley; three daughters, Ann Williams Phillips of Beckley, Mary Williams Fluharty and husband, Roy of Florida and Rose Tipton Clayton of Florida; one step-son, Gene Russell and wife, Sharon of Virginia; one step-daughter, Karen Reed of Alabama; one brother, Wink Lafferty of Rt 1 Mount Hope; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of God in Beckley. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Prosperity WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
