Stanley Uher,73,of Oak Hill formerly of Chicago and Lyons, Illinois died Wednesday, October 12 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital after a short illness. Born April 19, 1932, at Kingston, WV, he was the son of the late Mike and Vera Uher. Mr. Uher was a retired employee of the Public School system in Illinois. He was a graduate of the Kingston High School Class of 1950, Korean War Veteran who served with the First Marine Division, USMC, life time member of the Knights of Columbus and an "Ardent" No. 1 Notre Dame Fan. Survivors include his wife, Gloria M. Uher of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Ann Bondi of Whiting, Indiana; two nephews, Ronald Bondi of Highland, Indiana and Kenneth Cameron of Munster, Indiana; three nieces, Kathy Bondi of Mishawha, Indiana; Sandra Miller of Mineral, Virginia, and Audrey Kowalski of Dumfries, Virginia; and many cousins and friends in Croatia. Service will be 11 AM Monday at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Father John McDonough officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill with military rites by VFW Post 3110. Friends may call from 6 until 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 PM.
