Our much loved dad, grandpa and great grandpa, Stanley Rosiek , 89, of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, January 05, 2013 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born December 26, 1923 at Carlisle, WV he was the son of the late Anthony "Tony" and Catherine Uryga Rosiek. He was a retired coal miner for New River Company. Mr. Rosiek was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill. He was a member of the UMWA, AARP, American Legion Post 32, Beckley, and a life member of Amvets Post 21 Detroit MI. A US Navy veteran, he served during World War II. His wife of 63 years, Wanda Josephine Duboski Rosiek preceded him in death on June 18, 2012. He was also preceded by a son, Michael "Mickey" Wayne Rosiek, daughter-in-law, Debbie Rosiek, two grandsons, one granddaughter, three brothers, Walter, John and Leon Rosiek and four sisters, Helen C. Hess, Angeline Zaleski , Catherine Shamblin and Ann Novak. Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Paula Jo Prostrollo of Oak Hill and Karen Jean Todaro and husband, Ben of Oak Hill, three sons, Jeff Alan Rosiek of Tampa, FL, Richard Keith "Ricky" Rosiek of Oak Hill and Stanley Edward Rosiek, Jr. and wife, Janet of Charleston, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at the church. Family members will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sts.
