Shirley Ann Waldron Mackey

Shirley Ann Waldron Mackey, age 84. of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Shirley was born June 30, 1928 at Minden, WV, she was the daughter of Jess E. and Ida Berry Waldron. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, John Thomas Mackey, Jr. and by a brother Alvin C. Waldron. Shirley graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1947 and worked for may years at Oak Hill Theater. She was a homemaker and member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church, Rebecca Bible Class, Alter Guild and 3 F's Prayer Group. She also served on the Board of Directors of the CHHS/OHHS Alumni Association, Senior Friends and Senior Circle. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, John “Pro” Mackey, her son, Joe Mackey of Myrtle Beach, SC., three sisters, Betty Clendenin of Oak Hill, Jean Bowling of Carolina Shores, NC and Ramona Taylor of Nevada City, CA. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles D. Miller and Rev. Bill Slates officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV Friends may call at the Oak United Methodist Church one hour prior to services on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
