Shirley Doris (Treadway) Hatfield

Shirley Doris Hatfield, 85, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025, while residing at the Summersville Health Care Nursing Home, Summersville, WV. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Isadore Treadway; her husband of 57 years: Patrick Hatfield and nephew: Thomas Treadway. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Teresa Wilcox, (Gary Wilcox) of Summersville, WV and Patti Payne (Patrick Payne) of Beaver, WV; Three grandsons: Nathan Wilcox, Seth Payne and Ryan Payne; a brother: Kyle Treadway; three great grandchildren, 2 nieces, and several great nieces and nephews.

Shirley was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Cotton Hill Baptist Church, Beckwith, WV.

Graduating from Meadow Bridge High School, Shirley was elected May Queen, in her senior year. She played basketball and was Team Captain, also in her senior year. Continuing to be active into adulthood, Shirley was member of a bowling league and played on a women’s softball team.

While taking care of her family, she was employed in billing, registration and medical records at various doctors’ offices and hospitals in the region.

Funeral Services will held 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025 Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV, with Pastor, Jeremy Jones officiating. Entombment will be held at Rest Lawn Memory Gardens, in Victor WV.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM.
