On Thursday, July 7, 2016, Shirley Mae Blake Bragg, 66, of Oak Hill went home to be with the Lord at her home following a long illness.
She was born January 29, 1950 in Sanger, WV, a daughter of the late William Robert and Nancy Chesunas Blake.
Shirley grew up in Sanger and was a graduate of Collins High School . She worked for the federal government in Washington, D.C., at Oak Hill Hospital, and was a dedicated secretary for MSHA in Mt. Hope where she retired in 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Joe" Bragg, Jr. who retired from the Oak Hill Post Office.
Surviving are her loving family which includes her daughter, Terri Bragg Stowers and husband, Phillip; her son, Michael Bragg and girlfriend, Wanda Hall; one grandson, Andrew Phillip Stowers; four brothers, Thomas (Carol) Blake of Nebraska, W.R. (Sue) Blake of Virginia, Benny Ray Blake of Oak Hill, and James K. (Joy) Blake of Oak Hill; three sisters: Lillian (Doug) Ann Casey of Tennessee, Nancy Tomasek of Oak Hill, and Karen (David) Bennett of Alabama; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at Tyree Funeral Home of Oak Hill on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Lewis Sanson officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Shirley was a truly incredible and loving mom, grandma, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, daughter and friend who will be missed dearly by all.
