Sharon Lee Dickinson

December 7, 1939 — December 18, 2018

Sharon Lee Dickinson, received her complete healing on December 18, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. She went peacefully as God called her name.

Our nana was the true vision of strength. If you were blessed to know her, you knew she did the last nine years with poise, beauty and determination. Our Nana was one of a kind. Over the years, she taught her family what sacrifice, love and dignity truly are. She never gave up and always cared for her family over herself. She loved to dance as much as she loved her WVU Mountaineers! She had a love for people and life.

She was an active member of the Scarbro Baptist church where she served for many years. She retired from Southern Communications after a long career, earlier this year. She was member of the BPW. She was a member of the Beckley Area Shag Club and served as a board member where she often loved to “Dance the night away.” She was also a member of the Collins High School class of 57.

Our Nana loved her kids beyond measure. She was so proud of Bobby Jean and her Wendy Gail. She found her purpose in them. She told me one day, “God sure went above and beyond when he gave me our Tama and Phil.”

Each grandchild always held such a special place in her heart. We all were blessed to have had such amazing relationship with her. God sweetened the pot the last 6 years with four precious great grandbabies who simply stole her complete heart. They are always “Her sweet babies.”

Until we meet her again and Jesus’s embrace, she leaves behind son, Bob (Tama) Dickinson of Ansted, daughter, Wendy (Phil) of Culloden;
grandchildren, Samantha (Jonathon) of Victor, Melissa (Darrell) Kincaid of Victor, Rebekah (Tyler) Dean of Mount Lookout, and Jacob, Alayna and Paige of Culloden; her sweet babies: Sofie, Jacob, Darrell Ray III and Oakley; and sister, Judy (Tom) Rodes of Fayetteville. She also leaves behind so many nieces, nephews and friends.
