Sandra Jane (Wingrove Filippini) Johnson formerly of Pax, WV passed away peacefully in September, 2014 in Duluth, Minnesota.
She was born in Pax, West Virginia in 1936 to Oather “Waterbury” and Thelma Humphrey Wingrove.
Sandra is survived by five children, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She had three children with her first husband, Angelo Filippini who preceded her in death: Ella Dohlin of Duluth, MN, Ray Filippini of Temecula, CA and David Filippini of San Antonio, TX. She later remarried to William Johnson with whom she had two more children: Becky Armstead and Lynn Johnson both of Wichita, KS.
The first of six children, a brother Jerry passed away earlier. She is survived by her remaining siblings, Denny, Robert, Rita and Luann all living near Pax.
She loved her family and crocheting gifts for others. After 20 years of research, she achieved her family history goal of tracing her ancestry back to an American Revolutionary War soldier.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 15, 2014 at the Long Branch Methodist Church in Pax.
