Samuel Alexander Nicholls

Samuel “Sam” Alexander Nicholls, 74, lost his fight with cancer on Monday, January 3, 2011, at Hallow Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. Born June 26, 1936 in Oak Hill, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Richard Paul and Margaret Murray Nicholls. Sam graduated from Oak Hill High School and was employed 25 years with Dow Chemical. In his retirement he enjoyed keeping tabs on his classmates from Oak Hill and taking care of his cats. Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Nicholls, and one brother, Fred S. Nicholls. He is survived by his sister, Jane A. Burk, and a brother, Paul M. Nicholls, both of Oak Hill. Sam will be cremated and then interned at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill at a later date. The family suggests that donations be made to the Oak Hill High/Collins High School Alumni Association, PO Box 462, Oak Hill, WV 25901.
