Sammy Dennis Sparacino

Sammy Dennis Sparacino, of Beckley, WV passed away on Monday, September 22, 2008, after a long battle with colon cancer. He was in his 71st year. Born on May 20, 1937, and raised in Mabscott, WV he was the son of the late Santo and Chiara (Mary) Ciatto Sparacino. The youngest of 12 children and he was known only as “Bobby” to his family. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Sammy lived all his life in Beckley. He was known by all for his great talent of playing pool. Five brothers, Andrew, Joe, Tony, Jim and Eugene; a sister, Grace Lico, all of San Jose, Calif. formerly of Mabscott and a niece, Rosemary Sparacino preceded him in death. Sammy is survived by a son, Michael Sparacino and companion, Tabatha of Beaver; a daughter, Jennifer and husband, Ron Ellison of Winder, Ga.; a daughter, Rachel and her sister, Leah of Beckley; his ex-wife and the mother of Micheal and Jennifer, Peggy Sparacino of Cool Ridge; three sisters, all of San Jose, Calif., Mrs. Santina Turco, Mrs. Nancy Rogusky and husband, Elmer, Josephine Sparacino; a brother, Charlie of San Jose, Calif.and a brother, Pete of Oregon. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Nikki, Katelyn and Joseph Sparacino,Isaac, Nicholas, and Emaleigh Ellison; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins in Beckley. Michael and Jennifer wish to thank the doctors and nursing staff of the Veterans Hospital for the kind and tender care that they gave to our dad. They made his last days happy.
