Ruth M. Williams

Ruth Mereda Williams, 77, formerly of Pax, WV died on Friday, December 12, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV after a long illness. Born June 27, 1931 at Artie, WV she was the daughter of the late Murphy and Ada Stover Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Roland, Rex, and Thomas Williams; and two sisters, Magdaline Williams and Annette Stover. She is survived by five children, Allen Williams and wife, Traci of Tuscon, AZ, Roger Williams of Maple Fork, Mark Williams of South Carolina, Jeanette (Sissy) Whitlow Carver and husband, Charles of Edmond, and Timothy Williams and wife, Diane of Mabscott; eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Danny Whitlow, Jr., Amanda Hollandsworth, Jeff Williams, Derek Williams, Alysa Poorman, Nichole Williams, Jessi Williams, Doug Williams, Michael Lilly and Luke Williams, currently serving in Iraq; a sister, Doris Stover of Pax and two brothers, Lawrence Williams of Oak Hill and Gentry Williams of White Oak. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at White Oak Advent Church in Artie with Rev. Tom Lilly officiating. Burial will follow at Ewings Creek Cemetery at Toney's Fork. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Monday evening at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope and one hour prior to the service at the church. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
