Ruth Emogene Sawyers Goins

Ruth Emogene Sawyers Goins , 68, of Scarbro, WV died on Thursday, August 09, 2012 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born July 17, 1944 at Backus Mountain, WV she was the daughter of the late Eliza Katherine Pugh Sawyers Mrs. Goins was a Baptist and a homemaker. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff at Cabell Huntington Hospital and Hospice of Southern West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her her husband, Billy Joe Goins, brothers, James "Jimmy" Sawyers, and Elmer Sawyers and sisters, Virginia Sawyers Jones, Mary Inez Sawyers Neely and JoAnn Sawyers Grubb. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Lynn Goins at home and Karen Sue Goins Polk and her husband, Cecil Wayne Polk of Oak Hill, one brother, Charles "Cotton" Sawyers of Backus Mountain and two grandchildren, Matthew Wayne Polk of Oak Hill and Kelsey Renee Polk of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Jim Bailey officiating. Burial will be at Harrah Cemetery, Backus Mountain. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
